That’s Entertainment

I’m currently perusing Oscar fashion photos and as there’s a huge lack of outright ridiculousness going on this year, there’s not that much to make fun of. On the flip side, I’m loving that there’s so much PRETTY.

(Click the photos to see larger, if you like.)
For the WIN:
Anna Kendrick

This is SO delicate and soft and pretty. I’m not a fan of the shoes; I think the platform is a little too chunky for this dress. I also kind of wish there was more contrast between her skin color and the dress color but so far, this is my fave.

Rachel McAdams

She looks like a watercolor painting. So lovely.

Kate Winslet

I’m torn between wishing the dress was a vibrant, standout color, and thinking she looks flawless just as she is. I love this woman, she’s my favorite.

Sandra Bullock

Insert requisite joke about taking home the woman in the gold dress instead of the Oscar statue {here}. This reminds me slightly of the dress Halle Berry wore the year she won for “Monster’s Ball,” but she looks awesome.

Cameron Diaz

This is quite possibly the best this woman has ever looked at the Oscars, although I’m not a fan of red lipstick for her. Since her smile is naturally so wide, the red makes her look a bit like the Joker.

A little awkward…
Mariah Carey

Put it away already, woman, bored now! *yawn*

Jennifer Lopez

I swear I had a dress like this for my Barbie dolls. On the other hand…

I feel like she’s trying really hard to remind everyone that she’s the original Kim Kardashian.

Miley Cyrus

STAND UP STRAIGHT, YOUNG LADY. Seriously, she’s slouching terribly in EVERY photo. I also feel like the top part of her dress is missing…the part that goes OVER her strapless bra, there.

…and we’re BACK!

I have survived ServersDown!Gate 2010…which only lasted a few days and does not explain why I haven’t posted in nearly a month, BUT, as is typical, when I finally got the urge to blog I discovered I couldn’t. And two days ago, it was VITALLY important that I tell the Internet that my current general theme song is this:

It is toward my to-do list that I direct the line “Stop calling, stop calling, I don’t wanna think anymore, I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.” I’ll mark eight things off of my list and add ten new things and HEY, THAT’S REALLY AGGRAVATING. On Friday I finally managed to mark off a couple of things that had been hanging over my head for a little while and I felt so good about that that I took myself out for breakfast, then came home and went to bed where I stayed for most of the weekend, for no other reason than that I just COULD. I’m paying for it now, though, I have no days off work until I don’t know when – sometime next week, maybe? So…yeah, while I’m not actually throwing myself a pity party, some cutting loose is definitely in order in the very near future. I would love to be cutting loose in a place that looks like this:

Wherein “cutting loose” entails making no decision more stressful than deciding upon the best patch of sand to lay my towel, how long to float in that beautiful water, and where to get the best Pina Colada. Also: SUNSHINE. I am SO ready for that cloudless 75 degree day when I can walk outside in short sleeves and feel the sun warm me up all the way to my bone marrow. If you even THINK about reminding me of the snow we’re supposed to get here this week and over the weekend, I SO don’t wanna talk anymore. I’ll be on the dance floor. (Even if it’s just my living room.)

They pull me back in

I cannot stop singing along to this song, I lurves it so. The autotune is a bit much considering how well this guy sings, but I guess it’s the trendy thing in music right now.
