Where’s my freakin’ wand?!?

I follow some home design blogs and all too often I see this print hanging up in any featured room:

Finding myself all too often in a somewhat frazzled state, I can certainly appreciate the sentiment. However, I’m SO OVER seeing this particular print EVERYFREAKINGWHERE. There are definitely amusing and sweet variations on this poster, however, I think I’ve found the one that most appeals to my Harry Potter nerdishness own sensibilities:

NOTE TO FAMILY: MY BIRTHDAY IS IN LESS THAN THREE MONTHS.

Oh, we do like to be beside the sea…

Since I can’t take a real one right now, I’m hoping that I’ll at least be able to take a small mental vacation every now and then once a print of this photo arrives:

yvette

I’ve admired this photo from the first time I saw it on Yvette Inufio’s Flickr stream, and when I found out she had an Etsy shop I checked in periodically to see whether this one would be included in her photos for sale. It never was, but I decided this week that I must have this print in person, so I placed a custom order. I’ve always thought this image imparted a sense of peace…something I’d love to have a little of right now.

I’ve not been doing much of interest lately except shopping. I’ve spent a bit of the money that I’ve been saving up for Christmas and now everyone’s going to be lucky to get a bag of Hershey’s Kisses on Christmas Day. One bag for everyone to share, for clarification. I don’t know, I see all these pretty things and I just get tired of denying myself, so I have to splurge once in a while, particularly on my house. I’ve been buying prints and photos to hang on my walls, such as:

White Storks Under the Azure Dome Stuff White Trees Like
(Thumbnails link to the Etsy shops where they can be bought.)

I also bought some photos of Destin from a photographer I found on Flickr. No, I haven’t given up that particular obsession yet, why do you ask? I am also hoping to find this photo by Yvette Inufio in her Etsy shop soon; I just love the peace it implies. So I’ve got all this art in mind but haven’t gotten the walls painted yet. Go me!

I’ve also organized my bathroom drawers. I’ve thrown out stuff I’ve never used, stuff that expired, and replaced the majority of my makeup. Thanks mostly to Aromaleigh, I am now the proud owner of a heck of a lot of makeup for someone who hardly ever wears makeup. But I love the sparkles and shimmers, and the colors are great. In order to get all that makeup and some of my other stuff organized, though, I bought some drawer organizers from Target. I feel a little OCD, but I like opening the top drawer especially, whenever I walk by, just so I can enjoy how neat it all looks:
